19th Century German Solid Silver Enamel and Wood Hannukah Lamp Judaica. An incredible German 19th Century Hannukah lamp or Hanukkiah cast in solid silver with hand carved wood Lions of Judah cleverly housed within. Prominent and well preserved enameled shield depicting the 12 tribes of Israel. The base hand hammered and with rich symbolism throughout including silver repousse depicting the Maccabees revolting against the Seleucid Empire and with shields emblazoned with the Star of David. Applied silver palm trees, likely lulav, symbolizing their victory and connection to the Land of Israel, and menorah at the base. 8 pricketed candle holders sitting atop with the 9th (the Shamash) being removable in order to light the others. Two screws to underside with German silver assay scratch marks. A remarkable work of Judaica that has survived.

Condition: Great overall condition, light losses to enamel, seams to bodies of lions are original as they were carved in two pieces, one lion foot with age split but still intact. One screw missing to underside, few other screws are likely replacements. A small lean forward, possibly because the base is not even and flushed. Please refer to photos.
