They are inspired by everyday experiences, and appear to have been captured right in motion. The many lovely details of the mostly children and women depicting sculptures by Clara are typical of the Art Deco style, even though some features such as modern and futuristic structures seem to be missing. Juan Clara manages to combine the future with the past, without sticking to a particular theme, which makes each of his works individual and special. Little is actually known about this outstanding artist. Juan Clara was born in the North of Spain in the year 1875 and exhibited his works in Paris. There he for the most part worked together with the Goldscheider foundry and seems to have been influenced by the culture and artistic movement of Art Deco. - Kunst & Ambiente.
