Weight: Approx. 12lbs Jean Chevolleau was born in the South-of-France in 1924 and became a renowned abstract painter from his early adult life to when he passed. He favored the art movements of fauvism and cubism, and wanted to fuse the two styles together to explore "the infinite wealth of the space between figuration and abstraction." (chevlleau.fr) His subjects of art were were not anything too extravagant, but what made it unique was his approach with geometric construction, movement, and color. Chevolleau based most of his art for his love of the color blue since he loved the sky and the sea, but also incorporated richer warmer tones to make his paintings dynamic that capture the viewers senses.

Condition: Great Condition. Very subtle light surface marks to the canvas. An indentation to the canvas, visible to side of glass. (right middle of painting) A little wear on the frame.
