Darling oil on canvas portrait painting of a beautiful young child holding two dolls by American artist James Ormsee Chapin (1887-1975). Snug in her yellow pyjamas, she tightly cradles one doll and clutches onto the other as she smiling looks upward. James Chapin was an award winning painter originally from New York. It is said that his works were collected by the likes of Robert Frost, George Gershwin and John Rockefeller. Signed James Chapin lower left.Set in a two tone vintage frame.

Condition: Original canvas and stretcher with touch ups along edge of girls head and crazing to parts of background, light imprint along top stretcher bar. Few scattered chips and wear to frame commensurate with age. Minor losses.
