Carl Wuermer (German 20th Century) oil on canvas painting, bouquet of flowers. The painting depicts a bouquet of flowers in a vase. Signed to the lower right. Framed in a wooden frame.
Weight: Approx. 5 lbs. Carl Wuermer was a successful realist landscape painter and exhibited widely, receiving many awards. His technique was similar to French Pointillism. Wuermer painted large landscapes by building up the canvas with thousands of small dots and used dark outlining to define trees and other subjects. His compositions lead the viewer's eye back in deep perspective throughout the panoramic scene. Wuermer was awarded the J. Francis Murphy Memorial Prize from the National Academy of Design in 1928. - Caldwell Gallery
